Introduction to Sprint to Sitahuma

We have lots of exciting plans for PE at Bentley School this year!

I will be working hard with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure PE remains a key priority, so children can keep fit and really enjoy their two lessons of PE a week.  We are doing everything we can to maintain a high level of sport at Bentley.

This year we will be continuing our Runtastic sessions.  With our long-established link to our school friends in Sitahuma in The Gambia remaining, we are once again aiming to run the 3,359 miles it would take us to get to Sitahuma.

Over the past couple of years, the children have been ready to take on the challenge, and it will be reintroduced to the children at the beginning of the school year. We will be completing this task as a whole school team, adding up our miles each week as we try to run to our target.

Year 6 Sports Ambassadors will be helping to gather the laps recorded, and they will track our progress. All pupils can see our journey on the map in the foyer.  We aim to reach Sitahuma by the end of the year! I know we can do it!

You can get involved at home by walking, running and getting fit however you want to – you might even want to set your own family target? We will keep you updated on our school running progress too and appreciate your support.
