  • AfL - Assessment for Learning
  • ARE – Age Related Expectations
  • ASC – Afterschool Club (also referred to as Wrap-a-round Childcare)
  • BC – Breakfast Club (also referred to as Wrap-a-round Childcare)
  • DHT – Deputy Headteacher
  • EAL – English as Another Language
  • EHCP – Education Health Care Plan (equivalent of a statement of support = additional funding given for staffing due to SEN at a higher level of need)
  • ELSA - Emotional Literacy Support Assistant
  • EP - Educational Psychologist
  • FEIPS - Framework for Enhanced Individual Pastoral Support
  • GPC - Grapheme Phoneme Correspondence (what the sound looks like written down)
  • GPS – Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling
  • HCC – Hampshire County Council
  • HT – Headteacher
  • LA – Local Authority
  • LAC – Looked after child
  • LLP – Leading Learning Partner (previously Attached Inspector) – allocated from Hampshire Education Inspectors
  • LSA - Learning Support Assistant
  • OT – Occupational Therapist
  • PP – Pupil Premium (free school meal, service family or child in care)
  • PSHE - Personal, Social and Health Education
  • SALT – Speech and Language Therapist
  • SDP – School Development Plan
  • SEN – Special Educational Needs
  • SENCo - Special Education Needs Co-ordinator
  • SLT – Senior Leadership Team
  • SNA - Special Needs Assistant
  • TAC – Team Around the Child (in place where there are multiple agencies supporting a child or family)
