Day Three - crate stack, peg pole & donuts...

After a successful evening where we solved the clues in our Daring Detectives activity, we all had a good second night’s sleep and woke up raring to go for our third day of activities.

This morning, Group 1 enjoyed their second climbing session, Group 2 worked together to try to build the biggest tower in Crate Stack and Group 3 tackled the Peg Pole – it’s a bit wobbly when you stand on the tiny platform at the top!  Everyone was very brave as they completed some challenges set by their instructor whilst they were up there!

The second half of the morning was spent having fun on the ski slopes on the donuts and working as a team on the hanger’s orienteering challenge.

After another tasty lunch (the food here is great and everyone has been eating very well!), Groups 2 and 3 tackled the initiative course and then completed their second climbing session.

Everyone was surprised with how much more confident they were when tackling the walls today!  Group 1 had their second ski session and then braved the Peg Pole.  After hearing how brave Group 3 had been the day before, they approached this challenge with enthusiasm (and only a few nerves)!

Our final evening activity sees us visit the Schneider Hanger for a Rushing Rockets challenge.  We’re all looking forward to seeing which team’s rocket travels the furthest!

Just one sleep until we are home with all our laundry… washing machines at the ready!

Morning Update

Everyone slept well during our final night here at Calshot – they’re so exhausted from all the fun they’ve been having!  They enjoyed breakfast and were busy packing when we spoke to them.

They said “We’re looking forward to our final morning’s activities which we will tell you all about when we get home this afternoon.  All the class are in great spirits, it has been a great residential, and we are all looking forward to seeing our families later.

This morning Group 1 are finding out about coastal erosion, longshore drift and deposition in Coastline Catastrophe, and Group 2 are tackling the Peg Pole and then having their final ski session.  Group 3 are having our final ski session and building the biggest tower ever in Crate Stack."
