We are looking for an approachable, friendly, and practical person to help keep our happy, village school safe and tidy, and to drive local children to and from school in the morning and afternoon. This new role is ideal for someone with great DIY skills, who wants to support the local community.

You should have a clean, current driving licence which includes a D1 category.  Driving experience in a similar role is desirable, however training will be provided.  If not already obtained you will be required to complete the MiDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme) certificate.

The successful candidate will need to be a team player and possess a good sense of humour. Above all, you must be child centred and want to improve our school to ensure great learning can take place here at Bentley.

The role requires you:

  • to support the developing needs of the school community to offer minibus collection and drop off services for parents
  • to work closely with the Caretaker to manage the school building and grounds, including:
    • minor repairs, maintenance and decorating
    • moving and lifting heavy objects
    • sweeping playgrounds
    • a variety of outdoor work in all weathers
    • performing some cleaning duties and oversee contract cleaners
  • to liaise with and supervise contractors on site
  • to have basic literacy and numeracy skills

We can offer you a great place to work with a supportive and friendly team and access to appropriate professional development.  Additional hours of work with school visits and work on site may well become available, and we are looking for someone who is interested and flexible to accommodate this potential.

If you think you have what we are looking for then please contact the school office.

You are welcome to contact us to arrange a school show round. Please email recruitment@bentley.hants.sch.uk  with a suitable date and time to request a visit.

All applications must be made using the Hampshire form, which can be downloaded from the foot of this page, and emailed to recruitment@bentley.hants.sch.uk

Please note we will not accept CV applications
