This week at Bentley...

Thank you for making this such a positive first week back at school despite all the additional expectations for COVID. Whilst it appears that we are fortunate to be in an area with low risk currently our procedures are in place in case this changes. Staff and pupils have quickly adapted to the required changes and we will continue to review and enhance where needed, ensuring that we keep business as usual as much as possible.

It has been so lovely to see our pupils returning to school this week with such great attitudes to their learning. There has been a lot of happiness and fun. After a full first week I think everyone is certainly ready for a relaxing weekend!

Teachers will be running information sessions next week via Zoom. Your ‘Meet the Teacher’ times are highlighted below and the links will be sent out separately each day.

COVID UPDATES

Government advice is;

Please help us at school by updating us about any household symptoms and any closures with clubs attended outside of school.

We are very restricted on any adults coming into the school building. Thank you for supporting our new systems for getting the community on and off site. Please ensure that you walk on the pavement at drop off and pick up times as walking in the road is stopping traffic.

PTFA News

Mrs Pinchess would like to invite you all to our Virtual PTFA AGM on Thursday 24th September 8-9pm. Our amazing Chair Mrs Proud has got some great new ideas for virtual fundraising and wants to get every family involved to suggest ideas and support the school fundraising this year. Do come along to hear more.

STAFF NEWS

Unfortunately Mrs Alieva was unable to return to school after the summer holidays due to some family changes. We are currently recruiting for a new full time LSA and have cover in place for Year R for this half term.

We welcome Miss Henson as a student teacher in our Year 1 class this term joining us from the Alton Schools Partnership.

Our staff for this school year can be found on the website.

LOST KEYS

A couple of small keys were found outside the main gate this morning – could they be yours? If so please contact the school office by phone and we will reunite you with them!

SCOPAY

Thank you for following school expectations and paying in advance for school lunches and clubs. It is much appreciated. Please contact the school office via email if you have any questions or want to find out more about financial support.

SCOPAY had a national technical issue this week and asked us to apologise to parents who had problems. These should all be fixed now so contact us if you are still having problems.

CLUBS

We are really pleased that the teacher clubs have been so well received and these all start on Monday. If you are collecting from a Teacher club please line up, leaving space for the teacher to see whom to send out! You may enter and exit from the main school gate as numbers should be easy to allow you to socially distance but please bring your umbrellas if it is rainy as we cannot let adults inside.

Wraparound childcare may be booked through Scopay as usual. You are still able to book childcare as and when you need it as well as for regular sessions.

All clubs are following our Risk Assessment process to reduce contact, so infants and juniors groups remain separate.
