It has been another busy week in school. We had wonderful music performances from EYFS and Key Stage 1, well done! Thank you and very well done also to Year 4 who lead a brilliant class assembly all about the water cycle. I have been told they spoke clearly and confidently and shared their knowledge brilliantly. And of course, their singing was amazing! I was so sorry to have missed it.
Year 5 enjoyed an exciting day at Eggars School this week, getting creative and taking part in a range of inspiring activities, rounded off with a performance at the end of the day. They represented our school beautifully and came back full of enthusiasm about their experiences. It was wonderful to receive an email from Eggars this morning praising the children for not only their attitude and behaviour, but also how they rose to the challenges.
Although January seemed to go on forever, February is absolutely flying by! It hardly seems possible that it is already half term, meaning we are now halfway through the school year.
I am sure many of you will have heard that progress on the recreation ground is not going well, which will sadly impact our Sports Day once again. Mr Williams, Mrs Miffling and I will be meeting to carefully consider our options. This is not a situation any of us would wish for, but we must take all factors into account — most importantly, the safety of our children. I will of course update you as soon as we have a clear plan in place. Thank you for your continued support and understanding during what is a challenging and frustrating time.
Today I had the pleasure of joining Year R for their mad-hatters tea party. The children all looked wonderful in their hats.
I would also like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you and goodbye to Miss Goode, who has been teaching Year R this half term. She is off travelling, and we wish her well in her adventures.
I hope you all have a wonderful half term break and enjoy whatever you have planned — whether that is a holiday, days out, or simply some well-earned duvet days!

Eating for our Planet Day
Modern food production is a huge contributor to climate change, responsible for nearly a third of greenhouse gas emissions. On Wednesday 25th February Eco Council’s Team Food will launch our whole-school ‘Eating for our Planet’ Day with a special assembly and quiz to share their knowledge from the recent Young ACAN conference. Throughout the day every class will not only learn how their food choices can impact the planet but also our own physical and mental health.
