  • Day 2

After a fun first evening, we all had a good first night’s sleep and woke up raring to go for our second day of activities. We enjoyed our breakfast and then Group 3 headed straight down to the beach where they spent the morning working on the Seine netting activity. This is where you stand on the shore and throw out a big net. You then pull it in to see what marine organisms there are. As well as learning all about marine wildlife, we found out how pollution is damaging the sea and what we can do to help. At the same time, Groups 1 & 2 had to brave Crate Stacking. As the name suggests, this involves building the biggest tower of crates, but the fun is that we have to climb fast as we build, before the stack collapses and we are left hanging on a wire! We will leave you in suspense until we get home before letting you know which team climbs the highest. They also took part in a series of initiative tests. These were great fun and required lots of teamwork.

After lunch, which was well needed after all the energy used during the morning, Groups 1 & 2 swapped places with Group 3 (much to the excitement of group 3).

We are all looking forward to our second evening activity, which sees Year 5 turning into detectives as we try to solve some clues to a mystery.
