  • Day 2

What a jam-packed Wednesday we had at Calshot!

We started the day with sailing, enjoying the sea breeze and jumping into the water to cool off. After lunch, we took on a rocket-building challenge before treating ourselves to an ice cream. We then split into our groups for Aero Trek and cycle skills in the velodrome. The hot, sticky afternoon meant we needed to take things at a slightly gentler pace than usual!

Before dinner, it was a relief to have a quick swim in the sea to cool down. In the evening, we enjoyed exploring Calshot Castle as part of our Tudor Twilight adventure. The children investigated the different areas of the castle and discovered how its use has changed over the years. They were especially fascinated by spotting the murder holes near the castle gates and learning about their purpose and how they would have been used in Tudor times.

To round off the day, we headed back to our favourite spot — the beach — for some time to relax and unwind before settling down for a well-earned sleep.
