It has been wonderful to see the children back in school for over a week now and already so engaged in their learning. Thank you for the positive start you have given them with routines and readiness—it really does make a difference.
Wow – I can’t quite believe we’ve reached the end of the school year!
What a brilliant Sports Day we’ve had! While it may not have been quite what we originally planned—with the Rec sadly out of action—you wouldn’t have known it from the smiles, cheers and fabulous atmosphere on our school grounds this morning.
We were so disappointed to receive the news that we will not be able to host our Sports Day on the recreation ground this year. However, Mrs Miffling has worked out a new plan to make sure that Bentley Sports Day will still be a fun and competitive event for everyone to enjoy. A letter will be sent out today with all the information.
It’s been a busy and exciting time at school! Many of our classes are currently practising for Sports Day – there’s a real buzz of energy around PE lessons, as the children prepare for their events.
I’ve realised recently that I talk about the weather a lot in these weekly updates—but this time, it’s for good reason! All that weather-watching has finally paid off, and I’m delighted to let you know that after a very positive meeting with Archers Cricket Club, the rec will be ready for Sports Day!
A big well done to everyone who’s been doing their bit to summon some wet weather with rain dances – the rec is looking much greener and healthier already! Your efforts have clearly worked. I’m meeting with Bentley Archers next week and will be able to share more updates with you after that.
I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable half term break – even if the weather didn’t always appear to be in our favour!
