I can hardly believe we are already approaching December—this term is absolutely whizzing by! With the festive season just around the corner, it is wonderful to see the school beginning to feel truly Christmassy. Decorations are starting to appear, and there is a joyful buzz in the air.
As we approach the festive season, the school is buzzing with excitement and preparations for all our upcoming Christmas events. This week, we have been delighted to see such generosity during our non-school uniform day in exchange for donations to the Christmas Fair raffle. The contributions have been fantastic, and the raffle prizes are shaping up to be truly special – thank you for your support!
I hope this finds you well! I’d like to start by extending a huge thank you to everyone who joined us at Bentley fireworks event last week. It was my first time experiencing Bentley’s renowned fireworks night, and I was truly blown away by the incredible atmosphere and community spirit. The Eiffel Tower bonfire structure was spectacular, adding to a magical evening for everyone! Thank you to our competition winners, who joined Mr Goddard in the procession of the torch in order to light the bonfire.
I hope you all had a relaxing and enjoyable half-term break. I am pleased to report that our camping was a great success. We were lucky with the weather – no rain – and our sleeping bags kept my daughter and I cosy and warm each night.
As we come to the end of this first half-term, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on what has been an incredible start to the school year. It has been a busy few weeks, full of excitement, learning, and community spirit, and I am so proud of everything our children and staff have achieved.
It was truly wonderful to welcome so many of you to our Harvest Festival this week. I am incredibly proud of all the children, from the beautiful artwork to the heartfelt prayers they wrote. It was a special occasion to come together as a community and give thanks to God in such a meaningful way.
It has been another incredible week here at Bentley, and once again, I am absolutely overwhelmed by the generosity of our wonderful community. Your donations for our playtimes have been nothing short of amazing! From giant dominoes to car mats, our children are incredibly fortunate to have such support. The smiles on their faces at playtime will be wonderful.
I would like to start by extending a heartfelt thank you for the incredible response we received regarding donations for our playtime equipment. We have already had some wonderful contributions, including dinosaurs, sandpit toys, giant Jenga, and Giant Connect Four. I have also been collecting generous donations from my local community, near my home, which means we now have additional items such as a role-play kitchen for the outdoor Wendy House and toy cars. The generosity of everyone involved is truly heart-warming and will undoubtedly help make playtimes at Bentley a fun and enriching experience for all the children.
I hope this message finds you well! Despite the rain, we’ve had a fantastic week here at Bentley. Year 4 enjoyed an exciting apple-picking trip, returning with a bountiful harvest. I even got to sample my first bottle of the delicious apple juice—it was gone in about five minutes at the Hallett house! A big thank you to our PTFA for organizing the sales.

It has been wonderful seeing our Year R children coming into school every day. They have been settling in beautifully, and we are so excited to see them grow and become full-time members of our Bentley family. It’s a joy to watch them adjust so well, and we look forward to many exciting days ahead with them.
