Day 2

We all had a great first night’s sleep and woke to the sound of waves crashing on the beach outside our accommodation – Laurence House. After a delicious breakfast, we all set off for our first morning of activities. We learnt about coastal erosion, longshore drift and deposition in an activity called ‘Coastline Catastrophe’. This ended in a class debate - one of our favourite activities!

The Coastline Catastrophe

After another tasty lunch (the food here is great), Group 1 returned to the ski slope for their second lesson. Meanwhile, Group 2 tackled the ‘Peg Pole’. Everyone was very brave as it is a bit wobbly when you stand on the tiny platform at the top. They even completed some challenges set by their instructor whilst they were up there. After another tasty snack, the two groups swapped over, so Group 2 improved their skiing whilst Group 1 tackled the Peg Pole activity. Having heard how courageous Group 2 had been, Group 1 approached the Peg Pole with enthusiasm (and only a few nerves)!

We are all looking forward to tonight’s evening activity, which is a games evening.
