This week at bentley.....

Dear parents, carers and friends of the school,

Happy New Year and welcome back to school 2023!  I hope you all had a good Christmas even if you were fighting off one (or several) of the nasty bugs that were around.  It has been lovely to welcome all the children back to school this week and hear their stories of their Christmas activities and family gatherings; it sounds as though lots of fun was had by many!

It has been a super first week back at Bentley.  The children have impressed all the staff with their positive attitude towards their learning and their ability to quickly get back into the usual school routines – well done everyone and keep up the good work!

We have lots of exciting events happening this half-term, from school trips to film nights, so make sure you keep an eye on the newsletter for all the details.  Clubs will resume from next week; texts will be sent out on Monday to let you know which club has been allocated to your child.  Please contact the providers of any external clubs directly to book your space and make payment.

Torches for Ukraine

Thank you very much to everyone who donated torches and batteries.  Please see the message of thanks from a teacher in Ukraine below.

Dear British teachers and schoolers!
My name is Iryna Savelieva and I am the teacher of Ternopil Secondary School #5 with advanced languages, where Ostap Dorosh has studied for 4 years.
On behalf of all our staff I am writing in order to thank you for your kindness and support in these dark times in our country. We really appreciate this. Lots of thanks for your trying to lighten our rooms with your lanterns. It’s very important for us.
We all believe that the war will be over soon and we will live our lives in safety.
New Year is coming and we wish everybody  a Happy Victorious New Year! May all your dreams come true!
Sincerely yours,
Iryna Savelieva
