this week at Bentley.........

It’s been another busy week here at Bentley and everyone has been commenting on how quickly the time seems to go!  The children have told me how much they have been enjoying getting back to all their usual routines and spending time with their friends.

This links very nicely with the Christian value we are focusing on this half-term which is friendship.  In our collective worships this week we have been talking about what makes a good friend, how our friends make us feel and how life would be lonely if we didn’t have a friend to talk to and share our interests or worries with.  We shared the poem (below) and agreed that having these qualities would make us a very good friend indeed.

F is for faithful; they’re loyal to the end.
R is for reliable; they’re true and don’t pretend.
I is for the interest in sharing thoughts with you.
E is for enjoyment whatever you might do.
N is for neighbourly; they’re kind in every way.
D is for dependable on every single day.
S is for that special friend you know is always there,
The one who makes you happy and you know will always care.

As I write this, the children are enjoying ‘breaking the rules’ with their friends today.  A lot of fun has been had and it has certainly kept the staff on their toes (especially trying to remember all the name changes)!  Thank you for supporting your child to make their choices and work out the correct amount of money they owed.

Social Breakfasts

Join us for our traditional spring year group Social Breakfasts! Booking details will be sent next week, the cost is £2 per grown-up and 50p for each child attending with their grown up. Bring the whole family or come along for a 'date' with one child or to chat to other class parents.

All families eat together with children collecting plates, cold drinks and toast and adults collecting hot drinks. We will have OJ, tea & coffee, cereals, toast, croissants and a vast array of jams/spreads to enjoy.

As you know we are a nut-free school, but please let us know any of other food requirements at the time of booking, so we can try our best to accommodate every diner!

Dates are as follows - 20th Jan Year 6, 27th Jan Year 5, 3rd Feb Year 4, 10th Feb Year 3, 24th Feb Year 2, 3rd Mar Year 1, 10th March Year R.

Initially we ask that each family books to attend only one breakfast, so that everyone in the school can come along to at least one. We will let you know if places are still available in the week of the event. It will then be possible to book extra spaces.
